Spaces and Places at the Van Pelt and Opie Library
The J. Robert Van Pelt and John and Ruanne Opie Library hosts a number of events and exhibits, and offers both training and a wide range of technologies, resources, and spaces for use by students and faculty. Among the many things to do in the library:
- Get help with your research project, or with an IT problem, at the Library and IT Service Center
- Book a Study Room for your student group
- Attend a class in one of our library instruction rooms
- Enjoy food, drink, and pleasant conversation at the Library Café
- Relax in the third-floor meditation space
- Find a quiet place to study in the Opie Reading Room—open 24 hours a day, year-round, with the exception of Michigan Tech's Winter Carnival all-nighter
The library staff is always available to help you get the most out of people, spaces, and events at the library. With questions or comments, you may reach us Monday-Friday 9am - 5pm through our Ask Us! Live Chat service. You may also contact us at:
