What skills will students need to be leaders in the Fourth Industrial Revolution? How can we prepare a forward-thinking curriculum to prepare our students for careers that don’t exist today? How can we further align our undergraduate curriculum with business workforce needs, thus enhancing career opportunities, expanding choices, for our students? These are the questions that are guiding the development of the Tech Forward Initiative - Essential Education.

  • Folio Thinking and how to use PebblePad to foster this thought process
  • New Essential Education Minors, their structure and student impact
  • What are the Essential Abilities students will acquire through Essential Education at MTU
  • How are we redefining Wellbeing & Success courses, what choices will students have
  • How will the Michigan Tech Seminar set all students up for success

This is an opportunity to learn about how we are transforming General Education to better serve our students, learning from the cross-campus teams that are building the foundation of Michigan Tech’s Essential Education initiative.
