Developing professionally does not always happen within an academic setting. As graduate students you have many responsibilities outside of the classroom, lab, and office that, at times, may prevent you from being successful in your academics. Especially when that balance is disrupted by an unexpected event like an illness, or other emergency situation.While we in the Graduate School hope that you never experience a disruption like this, we would like to provide you with the opportunity to learn more about these processes and the resources available to you.

New and returning graduate students are invited to join Graduate School staff from 2:00 - 3:00 PM on Tuesday January 25th in the Alumni Lounges B & C to learn more about the process for excused absences, what to do for medical situations, and parental leave. We will also discuss the support and resources available to you should you experience an unexpected situation while enrolled.
